About

Annie Hawthorne

twenty-something child of God.

writer of whimsical literature & fantasy & sci-fi.

may be killed by her towering TBR tower.

experienced road-tripper & lover of travel.

never turns down pizza, trips to coffee shops, intellectual conversations, or the opportunity to explore a forest.

spanish on one side & german on the other.

the hot spanish bloodline means dramatics and the ability to roll “r’s” easily. also means being part of a spirited, fiercely close, demonstrative family.

incorrigible book-hoarder.

mochas, peppermint tea, but especially hot chocolate.

swoons over teal, turquoise, navy. everything but pastel blue.

bemoans inability to ask wodehouse, tolkien, l.m. montgomery, and dickens about writing advice.

would happily chat with Kate DiCamillio, Stengl, and Eric Nylund.

incurable people-watcher.

unabashed fangirl.

probably guilty of hyperbole.

haunts old book shoppes.

scared of heights. loves flying.

lover of red stilettos, bright nail polish, and flannel shirts with lace.

full-time auntie. full-time story-teller.

ships parcels off to exotic lands.

will someday own a fluffy feline (and baby dragon).

    1. Ohmygoodness, thank you so much, Michele! You made my day when I saw this comment! I’m thrilled you enjoyed my article–it still feels surreal that I’m even published tbh.

Ahhh, hygge. One of my favorite words in the world with one of the best meanings. I thought I’d link the Wiki article below and also an article from Grace Notes (the Bella Grace blog) since hygge is a prevailing theme in their magazines. It was basically the inspiration for their special release in December called the Cozy Issue.
